A fleece sleeping bag liner can provide extra warmth when it gets cold at night during your spring or fall camping trip. There is not a doubt about it for me and those that I camp with that a fleece liner gives a superb cosy feeling that just makes you want to really snuggle up.
DOWNSIDE
If there is a downside to the fleece sleeping bag liner it’s that it is much bulkier than a silk or cotton. Every backpacker and/or traveler knows that space is at a premium in your luggage. So if you are looking for a more compact sleeping bag liner you might want to consider another type.
UPSIDE
One of the upsides of being made from synthetic materials fleece sleeping bag liners can come in various thicknesses, similar to a quilt. So, if you are travelling through hot or mild climates you may find the fleece sleeping bag liner could be a possible alternative instead of using a sleeping bag.
If you think you maybe using it stand alone try and find one that has a full or at least a half length zip. The advantage of having a full length zip is that two bags can be zipped together to form a double or it can simple be used as a throw rug.
OTHER ATTRIBUTES TO LOOK FOR
Like all sleeping bag liners you should look for one that can be machine washed and anti pill as these bags are great for just lounging around the house on a chilly night or for the kids sleepovers.

Silk sleeping bag liners are very popular for inserting into sleeping bags. There are advantages and disadvantages when compared to the synthetic sleeping bag liners. The main reason for their high popularity is the glamerous feeling you get when you sleep in silk. The synthetic bags are unable to match the luxiousness that the silk can achieve.
UPSIDE
A great advantage of silk sleeping bag liners is that they are very easy to compress into the stuff sack or even a backpack. The material is very easy to manipulate and does not take up much room at all. This is especially true when compared to the synthetic bags of the same size, which can sometimes be very bulky.
Because the material is the most important factor when choosing a sleeping bag liner, the silk is seen as a huge advantage being a natural product. Although the new synthetic sleeping bags liners offer a host of advancements, many people appreciate the feeling of sleeping in silk, as the most important factor in the choice.
Besides of their durability, silk sleeping bag liners have a great capacity to increase the life span of your sleeping bag if treated properly and with care. Especially the washing instructions.
DOWNSIDE
Silk sleeping bag liners have a couple of disadvantages is that some people are allergic to the material and they cannot use them. If you know that you are allergic, then you will need to choose a synthetic sleeping bag liner.
Another big disadvantage is that they can become damp and wet easily. When this happens all the wonderful sensations of the silk become obsolete. This is quite a critical aspect to take into account when buying a silk sleeping bag liner. If you are going to adventure into areas that are very wet and humid, then you should consider another material. You would simply be wasting your money and backpack space.
This leads me to the conclusion of the article and something you need to keep thinking about. Remember that silk sleeping bag liners are more expensive than the other options you have available. If you feel that the extra comfort is worth the price, then I would recommend you choose a silk sleeping bag liner.

What I love most about a silk sleeping bag liner is that they ensure you can have a luxurious bed to rest your weary body wherever you may be in the world. This is not the only valuable use a silk sleeping bag liner offers. For example:
- They can add extra warmth to your old thin sleeping bag. Some can add up to ten degrees of heat.
- They can extend the life of your sleeping bag. They do this by keeping the inside of your bag clean, saving it from the wear and tear of regular use and washings.
- They can be used when you have to sleep on questionable mattresses or other sleeping areas such as you sometimes find when travelling.
- They are great for people who have sensitive skin or are easily susceptable to allergies as the sleeping bag liners protect your skin from chemicals that may be used while laundering sheets.
However, if you are like me and just prefer sleeping on high quality silk, rather than an average sheet, sleeping liners are the perfect solution. Being lightweight they are very easy to carry around and most liners come with their own travel bags making it even easier to tote them around.
Silk sleeping bag liners come in several different sizes. They are available in king, queen, full or twin size bags. Including the array of different shapes that sleeping bags come in these days, right from rectangle to tapering and also mummy bags. If you have a color preference that has been thought of as well as most bag liners are available in a variety of colors.
A top quality silk sleeping bag liner is a good investment when you consider they can preserve your health and extend the life of your expensive sleeping bag.
To get the maximum life from your silk sleeping bag liner follow the washing instructions to a t and look for double stitching or overlocking when buying your liner.
